Exhibits and butterfly houses

Features

Planet Zoo 2 Exhibit housing is distinct from flying habitats. The official roster contains six butterfly entries; flying birds use species-specific aviaries rather than butterfly exhibits.

Based on Frontier's housing guide and Zoopedia fields, checked 14 October 2026. Housing and space are taken from the source, not inferred from animal size.

Butterflies and exhibit care

The six butterfly entries are Cloudless Sulphur, European Peacock, Menelaus Blue Morpho, Monarch, Old World Swallowtail and Sri Lankan Rose. European Peacock is the butterfly Aglais io, not a peafowl.

Use the housing type listed in Zoopedia and check species-specific temperature, humidity and cleanliness. Exhibit enrichment unlocks through research. Lighting and visual effects customise presentation without replacing welfare requirements.

Flying habitats need land and flight space

Aviaries require a mesh roof. Long-Tailed Parakeet lists 6 m2 land plus 6 m2 flight area; these are separate fields, not a complete six-square-metre enclosure specification.

Check shelter, population, temperature and traversable space as well. A bird's small land requirement does not make it an Exhibit animal, and additional adults can increase required space.
