Is Planet Zoo 2 worth it?
Last verified 2026-10-14
ComparePC Gamer's original review scores 60/100. Metacritic's PC aggregate was 85/100 from 15 reviews; Steam was Mixed in the 14 October snapshot. These are different populations, not this site's own playtest.
I compared the current listings with the official platform FAQ. Do not buy for multiplayer or a native Mac version. Subscription catalogue inclusion is not confirmed; hardware-table matches are not a playability guarantee.
A practical split
Consider Standard if the verified new animal systems appeal to you and the published requirements fit your intended platform. Waiting can also make sense for patches, discounts or more user reports; it is not limited to waiting for another platform.
Full Steam US Deluxe is USD 64.99 versus Standard at USD 49.99. A later Deluxe Upgrade Pack is a separate USD 17.99 purchase. Deluxe is optional; check whether its six extra species matter to you.
Update 1.0.4 was announced for 14 October 2026 at 14:00 BST, or 21:00 SGT. Its planned fixes are not proof that all issues are resolved or that it has already reached your installed build.
Questions people ask
Should I wait for Planet Zoo 2?
The digital game launched on 13 October 2026. Waiting for fixes, a discount or more platform-specific evidence can still be reasonable; unannounced platform releases are not guaranteed.
Should I play Planet Zoo 1 first?
No official prerequisite was found in the sequel's listing. The original is a separate game; choose it for its own roster and gameplay rather than assuming its DLC transfers.
