Deluxe Edition vs Standard
Last verified 2026-10-14
BuyDeluxe is a content bundle, not a promise of later packs. Frontier said it was focused on launch and had nothing to share on future content.
I checked Frontier's buy and extras pages against Steam package prices and the PlayStation and Xbox listings on 14 October 2026. A full Deluxe purchase and a later upgrade are different transactions.
What Deluxe adds
The six Deluxe species are Axolotl, Blue and Gold Fusilier, Golden Eagle, Golden Lion Tamarin, Great Hammerhead and Longfin Batfish. Deluxe adds these species and exclusive animal signs.
Steam describes Deluxe as the base game plus the Deluxe Upgrade Pack; PlayStation and Xbox list the same components. Frontier's buy page still shows preorder Bonus Content Pack text under both editions. Do not assume that every post-launch Deluxe purchase includes that separate bonus pack; check the actual store bundle.
- Standard: 130 of the 136 official Zoopedia entries
- Deluxe: those six species plus exclusive signs
- Steam US: Standard USD 49.99; full Deluxe USD 64.99; separate upgrade USD 17.99
- PlayStation and Xbox UK: Standard GBP 39.99; full Deluxe GBP 54.99; separate upgrade GBP 15.99
Questions people ask
Is Deluxe worth it?
The value depends on whether you want the six extra species and signs. On Steam US, full Deluxe costs USD 15 more than Standard. Buying the USD 17.99 upgrade later is a separate option.
Does Deluxe include future DLC?
Frontier had not announced future DLC as of 14 October 2026.
